What Age is Best?
The best age to capture your bundles of joy is usually within the first 3 weeks if you want to get them into those gorgeous poses. Keep in mind that not all babies will go into poses and not all babies will sleep. I only work on how the baby reacts to being moved and if they do not like it I won't attempt it as not to distress them.
What are digital composites?
These are digital forms of photographs where we take two photos and merge them together to make beautiful images. There is usually a mix of these in your gallery and mainly used if the baby has been too restless to pose on certain props. Safety is important so don't be disheartened if we are unable to do a certain prop pose, we always have something our sleeve.
How to prepare and what to bring
Before your baby photography session keeping your baby awake for about an hour before your shoot is ideal ,in reality I know this isn't always possible so relax and if you can then try but don’t worry about it if baby decides to stay awake.. Once you arrive I will undress the baby and wrap them in a warm blanket. At this point you can feed your baby if they need feeding. This will then hopefully be very settled and stay asleep for a while. I do like to tell my clients not to worry to much over getting baby to sleep. If the baby is awake for a while we can get some lovely shots with their eyes wide open. I for one think having a variety of sleepy and wide awake shots are lovely.
